Filming Place for K-Dramas, Pocheon Art Valley
Art Valley is renowned not only for its rare and exotic scenery in Korea but also as a popular filming location for many Korean dramas. “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” and “Hwayugi” were all filmed here. Once you see it in person, you’ll soon understand why. The landscape itself resembles scenes straight out of movies, dramas or even pictures.
Once you reach Pocheon Art Valley, start by admiring the representative Cheonju Lake, then enjoy the view from the observatory, and explore the sculpture park and take some photos.
There is also a Stone Cultural Exhibition Hall fitting to the history of the quarry, providing an opportunity to learn about stones. Additionally, there are many symbolic sculptures on display, providing plenty to see and photograph.
Additionally, there’s an Astronomy Science Museum where you can enjoy stargazing, making it a great educational destination for kids. Since you can admire the stars in the night sky, it’s also a very romantic dating course for couples. To reach Pocheon Art Valley, taking the monorail makes the journey much more convenient. While there’s also an option to walk up if you enjoy hiking, it’s worth a try if you like challenges. Riding the monorail on the way up allows you to admire the changing scenery outside the monorail window according to the seasons. When coming down, you can leisurely walk and explore the surroundings. The monorail ride takes about 5 minutes.

Moreover, there’s an outdoor performance venue where you can watch wonderful Korean performances if you time it right. Although these performances are free, they are of very high quality.

Operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Fridays, weekends, and holidays, and from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Sundays. On weekends, you can enjoy Art Valley until late afternoon under the enchanting lights. However, please note that the first Tuesday of every month is closed.
The Easiest Way to Get By Public Transportation
Taking intercity buses is the easiest way to get then. To get there by intercity bus, take bus figures 300, 3001, or 3002 from Dong Seoul Terminal to Pocheon Terminal, also transfer to bus number 73 and get off at Sinbuk- myeon Administrative Welfare Center
